Malina, along with such artists as Avril Lavigne, Shakira, Ana Popovic, and Sugarland’s Annie Clements have been selected as part of the initial round of leading female artists who rock in music and in life. Malina Moye Joins Legends of Funk in March Madness

March 17th, 2010

Whether March came in like a lion or a lamb, one thing’s for certain, Malia Franklin–lioness of the vocal persuasion, may have left the earth but will be definitely heard forever. On March 8 at the Conga Room in Los Angeles, Malina Moye joined a legendary line up of Funk masters who paid tribute to the vocal powerhouse. The night featured Sheila E, Bootsy Collins, George Clinton, Malina Moye and others. Franklin was a lead voice in George Clinton’s first female spin-off group, Parlet. Her credited background vocals with Parliament Funkadelic and date back to the 1975 “Chocolate City” album.

Furthermore, Ms. Franklin introduced Clinton to a young and struggling Bootsy Collins in 1971, thus changing the course of pop-music history. For more information  (click here).

Malina is hailed the ‘New Era Of Music’ as written on Iain Watt’s popular music blog. Check it out below:
