Happy new Year everyone! I trust that you all had a great time this holiday season. It’s been a while since my last blog so i thought I’d fill you in on what’s going on now. I had a great time performing at the Artist For peace Concert honoring Stevie Wonder. Great Venue, Wonderful people and amazing artist from all over the world. Check out the piece in JET MAGAZINE.

A Highlight for me was watching Chaka Khan and Stevie perform Tell me something good, and getting to play Superstition for Stevie and perform alongside Eric Benet, Layla Hathaway, Bobby Brown and Judith Hill. I posted pictures below.

With all the excitement from that show, I got a chance to perform another dream during the Christmas season Stevie Wonder’s The House of Toys. That was a lot of fun and another group of great artist from Justin Bieber, Drake, Michael Mcdonald, Angela Winbush and more.

I’ve been recording my new EP, and can’t waiitttttt to get out on the road and play it for u!

A lot of great things happened at the end of the year and there are so many deals and team players that have come aboard the Malina Moye train for 2012. I’m very excited, and ready!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012 (RNRB).

Children Dream Awards

Its been a while since my last blog–so much great stuff has been going on! But first I want to tell you about the Children Dream Awards which was held at the Los Angles Club Nokia. It was a lot of fun and I met some very inspiring kids who are really standing up and changing the world. It’s like CNN Heroes for kids–meets the Oscars.

I had a chance to perform a few songs from my Diamonds & Guitars record. Special shout out to my band–Trameka Richardson, Dennis cooper ( background vocals), the Regiment Horns, Leddie Garcia (percussionist), Ethan Farmer (bass), Erick Walls (guitar), Eddie Brown (keys).

Children uniting nations teamed up with some great people to bring the amazing event to life. My band and I I also performed in the grand finale with Abraham McDonald. He is incredible. He is the winner from Oprah Winfrey’s most talented competition. We performed his song “Believe.” For more information about the talented kids and the event. Go to Children Uniting Nations. Malina Moye & Bill Valaika

I just wanted to share my new fender guitar that was designed by glam guitars. I have been wanting to do a swarovski crystallized guitar since for ever. Bill, Megan, and the rest of the glam gods Delivered. We went through a few ideas until we found what felt in line with me as an artist and bam here it is. I am a left handed player so sometimes ill go straight custom or a rt-handed guitar flipped it upside down - but this time i went for a left handed Stratocaster and reworked the nut and strings. It sounds amazing. Eric Guitars is always taking care of all my babies keeping them in tip-top shape, he was blown away by the craftmanship and of course, with a Fender you cant go wrong. Thanks to Billy Siegle and my Fender family for the best service ever!!!!Take a look at the pictures below. I will perform with it at the Dream awards which will be televised in March and You will see it on my Diamond & Guitars summer tour. Take a look at other guitars glamguitars has designed. National Anthem- Christina Aguilera

I like the rest of the world watched the Superbowl yesterday. I loved it. As crazy as it sounds I’m watching Christina perform the anthem and i go wait a minute did she just rework the anthem. In other words flub it. hay- but in her defense. The obvious she is one heck of an artist vocalist, just super woman power woman amazing vocalist. The great thing is it showed she’s human. in her defense, just having the chance to play an arena of this caliber and craziness, There is soo much going on, and the energy is overwhelming, the fans and this is the Superbowl were talking 153 million people watching. The energy in the building is what really counts cuz they are there with you. I was getting nervous all over again, and i wasn’t involved in her anthem whats so ever. The venue itself is like 80k people, add in 2 different ear-plugs they give you so you can hear yourself and hear your directions to get to the 50 yard line. plus add in the fly over omg!!!! fireworks more cues, plus oh yeah WE need a Heck of a performance as well. Im sure Christina has performed a trillion SSB, and trust me she is still thinking about that one. That will never ever go away!!!! So it sparked me2 play videos of anthems. Namm 2011 this year was off the hook. As always catching up with old friends and meeting your idols, and of course seeing the new gear. I had the chance to meet Verdine White–Mr. Earth Wind and Fire, Duff McKagan from (GnR and Velvet revolver) Brad Whitford, Dave from Ratt all round the Fender Floor and of course my Billy Siegle and fender family. It was a great time. Cobi Stein Eminence speakers!!!! i love u……. The Dunlops - Whom i love and Bryan from Dunlop manufacturing. This year is already starting out with a huge bang!! I almost forgot. I was watching the movie Mahogany other night and realized the gown that Diana Ross was wearing, the purple gown with the muff is the inspiration to the gown i wore for the Grammy’s 2010. I then went online and saw an article where the designer of my dress, Kevan Hall, was speaking about his Diana Ross collection that was inspired from the movie Mahogany. I think soooooo!!!!!

2010- COMES TO AN END……..

2010 comes to an end, This has been an incredible year. So many hits and misses. From having a chance to go to my first Grammy Awards ceremony and actually having material on the ballot,to wearing an A-list designer with the diamonds to match, to losing loved ones. (Ms. Jane Fusco). I had the chance to start the year of at the NAMM show and see good friends and meet new ones. My pre-warm up on national anthem with the cubs vs White Sox on guitar in AZ- to playing in front 65,ooo fans for a major football game back in Mn. In case you hadn’t heard it was the vikings vs dallas game (lol). Spending time with and performing for living legend Stevie Wonder, to having a great dinner with the Great George Benson and family, and meeting everyone under the son that I’ve admired. I had a blast on the movie set of my uncle Rafael hanging out with the director, family and friends. Lyfe Jennings thanks for the west coast dates of your tour. He is seriously the realest dude and can sang sang sang his butt off. Bootsy, Sheila E. I had a ball jamming with you guys, the studio the next day was the icing on the cake… Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me and the WCE team and hello and welcome aboard the Malina Moye train to all the newcomers. Buckle up and get ready for the ride. 2011 is going to rock!!!!!!!! like the Black eyed peas song…. I got a feeling …….

Teena Marie RIP (1956-2010)

I heard on December 26,2010 that early that morning we lost the legendary Soul icon Teena Marie. Teena was an amazing singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She is a person that i feel also deeply impacted the entertainment industry. She was a very kind person and quite the motivator, always encouraging new artist coming to the scene. She is the type of artist that no matter what generation you are from good music and artistry speaks LOUD. Her are some clippings i found of lovergirl. RIP Teena Marie, -

12th Annual Day of the Child CUN

Sunday the 14th was great. I had a chance to perform for the 12th annual day of the child. It’s a day when mentors and foster children get together and have a fun filled day with music, carnival rides, stories, food, and games. It’s a blast. This years event was hosted by a real band of A-list celebrities Don Cheadle, Forest Whitaker, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gabrielle Union, and more. I performed a few songs. It was sooooo much fun I meet some very inspiring people and made a lot of new friends.

Vikings vs Dallas- Showcase Minnesota, FAVRE, ROMO, MOYE

Sorry its been so long since i have written. I had a blast playing the national anthem for the Vikings vs Dallas game. I was so excited and nervous the day of. I’ve played or sang a few of the anthems now But i must say NFL rocks!!!!! they sent a limo to pick-me and my team up around noon then we headed to the VIP entrance into the stadium. I had no idea that the stadium held 65,000k people. IT WAS SOLD OUT!!! If u have never experienced football on this level, it goes like this in my little mind. When its game time, the announcer is telling everyone to get loud, flashing lights, fireworks, a big ol’ viking ship starts coming out!! Imagine the most craziest energy ever at the highest loudest level possible, now magnify that by thousands of enthusiastic screaming fans. The key is to stay focus cuz your up!! I walked with Marc to the 50 yard line. My mother and father were allowed to follow us down. I had ear monitors in because of the acoustics of the dome and with that many people screaming they can scream over your electrified instrument. I was focused, when i got to the part of rockets red glare Minnesota didn’t disappoint. There were red glares going off behind me as i was playing it. lots of pyrotechnics. I cant wait to see the footage. I’m a huge fan of the movie There’s something about Mary. So when Favre came over and told me good job. I looked him dead in the face and said I loved u and i loved u in there’s something about Mary, Have fun Brett. He just looked at me like hmmmm.(lol) In the pictures you can see i wore Adrien Peterson’s jersey. I had no idea who he was duh… he’s only the number 1 running back in the NFL. All the players were very nice and as they came rushing at me they all hit me on the shoulder and said good job. I got 10 comp’d tix. I felt like a superstar, normally 4 is the limit but wait these seats were really on the field. I could’ve asked FAVRE to throw me the ball. My nephew had a blast as well. We ate from the Vip dinner service meet a few of the officials, then took the limo home. After an event like that you don’t realize what an honor it is to play for 2 Superbowl teams in what easily seemed to be a million dollar production. Days later IT DID… and to do it in your hometown at the Metrodome- priceless. WOWOWOWOWOW thank u for letting me be apart of your Football sunday. I will post some additional photos and more video as well.

Thanks to famous Dave’s for hosting a great dinner for my family and friends, and We had a great time performing at Showcase Minnesota as well.
